Sadness awakened
Pieces of each inside us
Immortal love lived
True Love Never Dies

My friends are right
I can’t feel sorry
You made your choice
Even if you fail to act
The writing’s on the wall
Everyone can see a love
That screams its truth
Behind longing eyes
We march onward in time
Matching bands on our wrists
You reset to me, gears balanced
As your smile returns
But how can I watch
You bury a flame inside
To play house with honor
In a land you can desert
You’ve come back home
As you call it still
Knowing nothing’s changed
It’s you, me, our candle aglow

The chemistry changes
When one’s removed
A unity rearranged
My charge runs high on low
Without you to offset
The electricity runs wild inside
It’s more than I’ve let
Send my heart into overdrive
The rain outside pours
Ever since you left
Washing over our mores
Hope for separate worlds
If only water reached
The desert’s dry land
That sand where you beached
Cowardly retreat across the ocean
Meanwhile rain falls
Straight into my chest
Dripping down the walls
The initial shock knocks back
Once again it changes
The shape of my heart
A spot for you arranges
Leaving the rest whole again
