Withdrawing from the world

I seek no friends, no talk

Only my bear to squeeze

No one else knows this blue

Curtains drawn, night closes in

The house gets dark again

My heart dims as tears roll

I sink right into my chair

My bear in my lap sits

As real as my old self

Present in body solely

Empty bodies, one full of fluff

I crawl in bed alone

For a time of intended darkness

Eyes closed makes no difference

When I can’t see waking

I pull my bear close

Drifting into another place

In dreams I find myself

Among others, alone only in theory
