I jumped toward the sky
Though on a cloud, I floated on a grey one
It held me close, but then the rain weighed down
I fell with it, splattering on the grass
The drops still sprinkled as the clouds covered the sun
But water cleanses and water feeds
The wetness dries, and I grow brighter
I needed the rain to reach higher
Whether a thorn or a bud develops, I grow what I need
Beauty, compassion, protection, strength
Brought by rain and shine necessary to survive
The inevitable vulnerability in the vast world
Out in the open only my roots in the soil hold me in place
Firmly grounded I know I can weather another storm
My foundation gives me all I need to blossom under the infinite sphere
I grow more roots as I move toward the Son
